IN THE COMMUNITY

Rabbi Jablon strongly believes in the importance of strong involvement in the Jewish community. This extends not only to his local Orthodox community, but to both the wider Jewish community and the State of Israel.

When he worked in Cleveland, he proudly served as Co-Chair of the Religious and Academic Division of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Campaign for Jewish Needs and as a board member of the Cleveland Jewish News. At Fuchs Mizrachi School he created his own Rabbinic Chesed Discretionary Fund" to assist families in need.

He is an avid writer and speaker to wide audiences.

He recently spoke about "What's Jewish About Baseball" for the Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society. He has been a guest speaker for Jewish Federations, education conferences and at various Orthodox synagogues. He even spoke for the Hebron Fund for Shabbat Chayye Sarah 5768 (2007) in the Holy City of Hevron.

During his stint in Silicon Valley, he was an elected board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater San Jose and the Chair of the Council of Agency Executives and Rabbis.

Rabbi Jablon led a nation-wide effort of 22 schools and congregations to plant trees in Israel in memory of Ilan Ramon z"l, the Israeli hero who died aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger.  The campaign was a tremendous success, raising over $11,000 to plant more than 2,200 trees in Israel.

In 2001, Dwayne Rudd, formerly of the Cleveland Browns, came to Fuchs Mizrachi School to thank Rabbi Jablon and the Lower School students for their participation in the Cleveland Browns Heroes Fund (which is adopting the family of a NYPD officer and a NYFD officer killed in the September 11th attacks).

Rabbi Jablon has been a popular speaker for various congregations and groups.  If you are interested in having Rabbi Jablon speak to your group, please contact him.
